LEELA - Turanga Leela is a very sexy, one-eyed female spaceship pilot who spent much of her life thinking she was an orphaned space alien and used her martial arts skills to vent her feelings of loneliness. Now that she knows that she is actually the child of doting one-eyed New New York sewer mutants Turanga Morris and Munda, she merely uses her martial arts skill to kick ass. Captain of the Planet Express delivery ship, she strongly advocates for the rights of animals (be they space bugs, Earth vermin, or pre-universe immortals like her pet Nibbler), mildly tolerates Fry's frequent (but unrequited) romantic overtures, and boldly deprecates the loutish behavior of one-time accidental loverCaptain Zapp Brannigan.

ZAPP BRANNIGAN - A 25-star major general webelo of the Democratic Order of Planets (DOOP) whose feats of valor are the stuff of legends, nowhere more so than in his own publicity materials. Captain of the Nimbus and author of the "Big Book of War," he defeated the pacifists of the Gandhi nebula, bounced the ball aliens out of Spheron 1 (their home planet), and beat the Killbots by sending in waves of men until they reached their preset kill-limits. A sublime warrior, he can make love as well, snu-snuing until bruised with Amazonians and seducing Leela with a one-two punch of champag-ne and whimpering. He is best known for "Brannigan's Law" which he vigorously enforces but doesn't pretend to understand.
